Who we are

Macroz is provided by Chance Marine, an individual developer based in Indiana, USA. No affiliate or other company receives your consumer health data. Contact: support@macroz.co.

Health data we collect

• Body measurements — weight, body fat, muscle mass, height and daily steps, whether you type them, say them to Macroz, or import them from Apple Health.
• Profile details your plan is built from — sex, date of birth, activity level, goal, goal weight and pace.
• Pregnancy and breastfeeding status, if you tell us, because it changes how your targets are set.
• Food and drink intake — what you ate, amounts, times, and the calories and nutrients that follow from them, including food photos and nutrition-label photos.
• What you tell Macroz in chat, voice, check-ins or support tickets, which can include illness, injury, training, alcohol, medication or supplements such as creatine, your menstrual cycle, or how you feel about your progress.
• Progress photos you choose to take in the app.
• Inferences Macroz draws from the above: estimated energy expenditure, calorie and macro targets, whether a day’s log looks complete, and whether a check-in mentions something that shifts water weight (for example illness or the menstrual cycle), a lasting change in activity, or discouragement.

Where it comes from

• You, through the app: typing, speaking, photos, check-ins and support tickets.
• Apple Health, only for the readings you allow.
• Macroz itself, when it calculates targets and the inferences listed above.

Why we collect and use it

• To log your food and work out its nutrition.
• To set and adjust your calorie and macro targets as your weight changes.
• To answer your questions and coach your check-ins.
• To restore your history on a new phone.
• To answer your support requests.
• To keep the service safe and working: preventing abuse, limiting AI spend and fixing errors.

We collect consumer health data only as needed to provide the features you ask for, or with your consent. We do not use it for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not use location data or geofencing.

Who we share it with

We share consumer health data only with service providers (processors) that handle it on our behalf to run Macroz, under contracts or terms that limit how they may use it, and with Apple when you allow Apple Health. The categories below list what each receives.

• Cloud hosting (United States) stores your account, log, measurements, photos you back up, and profile, and runs our servers.
• AI model providers, and the routing service that connects Macroz to them, receive the parts of your conversation, food records, photos, program and body measurements (weight, body fat, muscle mass and steps, including Apple Health readings) that a request needs. This happens only while AI sharing is on.
• Web research provider receives search text written from your food and recipe requests, and links you share, only while AI sharing is on.
• Speech providers receive microphone audio for dictation and voice conversations, and reply text for spoken replies, only while AI sharing is on.
• Nutrition database and hosted diary — FatSecret receives food searches, barcodes, food identifiers, amounts, meal and date, and custom-food nutrition. Open Food Facts receives barcode numbers only, with no account information.
• Apple — Apple Health, when you allow it, under Apple’s terms.

The app names the AI, research and speech providers on its AI providers page, opened from “Who receives it” when Macroz asks about AI sharing. Our analytics provider does not receive health data: events carry no food names, calories, weights, measurements or health readings. We may disclose data when the law requires it.

On request we will give you a list of the specific third parties that received your consumer health data, with a contact email for each.

Your consent

We collect the health data described here because it is needed to provide the tracking you ask for. AI sharing is a separate, optional consent: Macroz asks for it on its own page after you sign in, and nothing is sent to the AI, research or speech providers above until you turn it on. With it on, your messages, photos, audio and body measurements, including Apple Health readings, are sent to them. Apple Health access is asked for separately by iOS. You can withdraw AI sharing at any time in Settings → Privacy → AI Sharing, and Apple Health access in the iOS Settings app. Withdrawal stops new collection and sharing and stops work in progress; it does not recall requests already sent.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

• Confirm and access whether we collect, share or sell your consumer health data, get a copy of it, and get the list of third parties that received it.
• Delete your consumer health data. You can do this yourself in Settings → Privacy → Delete account. We tell the processors above that hold a copy to delete it.
• Withdraw consent to collection or sharing, as described above.

We do not treat you differently for using these rights, except that withdrawing AI sharing turns off features that need AI.

How to make a request

Email support@macroz.co or open Support under Settings in the app. We will confirm the request comes from the account holder, usually by answering from the email address linked to the account or from inside the signed-in app. We respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we will tell you why within those 45 days; the law allows one extension of up to 45 more days.

Appeals. If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our answer with “Appeal” in the subject. We answer appeals within 45 days and explain the outcome. If you are still not satisfied, you can contact your state Attorney General: Washington at atg.wa.gov, Nevada at ag.nv.gov, or Connecticut at portal.ct.gov/ag.

How long we keep it

Health data stays in your account until you delete it or delete your account. Our own backups are kept for 7 days, so copies of a deleted account in them are gone within 7 days. We tell processors that hold a copy to delete it; the details, including FatSecret’s backup timing, are in Deleting your account. Cached food-photo observations expire after ten minutes.

Security

Only people who need it to run Macroz can access consumer health data, and they are bound to keep it confidential. It is sent over encrypted connections and kept with access controls. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your health data, we will notify you as the law requires.

Changes

If we change how we collect, use or share consumer health data, we will update this page and ask for your consent in the app where the law requires it.
